Execution Conditions

  • Environment: quiet, seated, uninterrupted

  • Posture: upright, stable

  • Eyes: open initially, closed later

  • Devices: silent, out of reach

No background sound.
No audience.


Step-by-Step Execution

Step 1 — Silent Stabilization (5 minutes)

Sit upright.

  • Eyes open

  • Gaze neutral

Remain silent.

Observe:

  • urge to speak

  • internal commentary

  • pressure to verbalize

Do not respond.


Step 2 — Delayed Speech Phase (7–10 minutes)

Introduce speech with constraint.

Rule:

Speak only after a 5-second internal pause.

Content:

  • describe immediate sensory facts only
    (e.g., “I am seated.” “The room is quiet.”)

No opinions.
No narratives.

After each sentence, return to silence.


Step 3 — Internal Speech Observation (7–10 minutes)

Close eyes.

Do not speak.

Observe:

  • internal dialogue

  • impulse to externalize thought

No correction.


Step 4 — Neutral Closure (3–5 minutes)

Allow one final spoken sentence.

Rule:

  • factual

  • brief

  • non-evaluative

Return to silence.


Step 5 — Completion (2–3 minutes)

Remain seated briefly.
Open eyes slowly.

No reflection.
No journaling.


Post-Session Instruction

After completion:

  • Resume daily activity normally

  • Do not repeat the protocol

  • Do not combine with earlier practices

Proceed to Day 5 on the next calendar day only.
